At Dynamic Podiatry, we are pleased to accept Medicare referrals for eligible patients, providing accessible and comprehensive care for diabetic foot assessments as well as general foot and nail care.
What Does Medicare Cover?
Under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, Medicare offers rebates for patients with chronic conditions, including diabetes, who require podiatry services. This includes:
- Comprehensive diabetic foot assessments
- Routine foot and nail care to prevent complications
Our podiatrists work closely with your general practitioner to ensure coordinated care that supports your overall health.
Diabetic Foot Assessment
If you have diabetes, regular foot assessments are crucial to monitor for complications such as neuropathy, poor circulation, skin breakdown, and risk of ulceration. Medicare rebates cover these assessments, helping detect problems early and reduce the risk of serious foot issues.
General Foot and Nail Care
Medicare may also subsidize general foot and nail care under a referral when it is clinically necessary, such as for patients with diabetes or other medical conditions that affect foot health. This can include treatment for corns, calluses, nail trimming, and management of fungal infections.
Important to Note: Additional Charges
While Medicare rebates help reduce the cost of podiatry services, additional fees may apply depending on the complexity of the treatment required. At Dynamic Podiatry, we provide clear upfront information about any out-of-pocket expenses before your treatment begins.
